No News IS Good News!

No new "news" on the website can be a good thing. Since August 2005, we've been working almost exclusively on developing Flash-XML media for a Fortune 50 corporation. This client has large projects and tight deadlines; consequently, relatively few resources have been directed elsewhere... including any additions to this website! So, no NEWS doesn't mean that we've been lazy; it means that we've been fortunate and busy!

Besides, the NEWS section of Jaaman.com is not a blog; there really isn't enough "free" time available for regular updates. Rather, it's a place to very occasionally display various selected projects for public viewing.

In addition to this long-term contractual agreement, we are currently completing all pre-existing commitments. If you are considering a future project, please contact us to discuss your ideas!

As always, thank you to all of our valued clients!

Tutorials and Training Materials

In addition to creating numerous Flash and Powerpoint presentations, we've had the opportunity to create custom interactive tutorials for a client's internal training program. Of course, we cannot post propriety material... so, we have created a sample tutorial just for demonstration purposes. This tutorial presents one method of creating an interactive property-changing button in Macromedia Flash(tm). This method is useful when you want to, say, import a graphic to use as a button... and then make the graphic change properties (become transparent, change color, etc.) when you mouse-over or click your button.

This tutorial is intended to serve as a basic demonstration. Custom tutorials can be created that include embedded animations, audio, and even video if required. Samples of these will be posted in the future. For now, take a look here!

Jaaman Media at Undercurrents Forum

Jaaman Media was honored to be a presenter and panelist at the recent Undercurrents Forum, held on the Cuyahoga Community College campus on May 10th, 2005.

This forum focused on web promotion for musicians, and on the various opportunities and potential pitfalls of using the internet for marketing music.

Jeff of Jaaman Media gave a multimedia presentation on using web-media tools for marketing your music. Also presenting was Douglass of DomainCleveland.com, who spoke about helping local artists create opportunities for exposure. The presentations were followed by a lengthy question and answer session, where a variety of music-related internet topics were discussed.

Many thanks to John Latimer and Derek Poindexter of Undercurrents for the opportunity to participate! Check out more upcoming Forums and other Undercurrents activities right HERE.

And be sure to support your local music and other fine arts!

A New Format for Jaaman.com

Jaaman.com is changing the format of our portfolio sections. The changes should make it much easier to browse the various work samples presented. We will also be moving or removing a few sections in order to narrow the focus a bit. Some of these changes are already begun, others will be implemented over the next few months. We hope that you check back often, and thank you again for visiting jaaman.com!

New All-Flash Website: Tellersrock.com

The Tellers are a creative glam-rock band based in the Cleveland, Ohio area. Their new website, tellersrock.com, was developed as a full-Flash website.

The lead vocalist and founder of the Tellers, Samantha, is also an artist and photographer. Samantha had already created a selection of stylized photographs as backdrops for her song lyrics... and, she wanted her photo-artwork incorporated into any new website. Subsequently, the selection of colors (hues/saturations/intensities/etc.) for the new website was inspired by her existing photographs.

Similarly, the concept for the website theme was derived from the content. This IS a rock band website after all, so the design focused on delivering that content... flavored with a little glam-rock-band attitude.

There are numerous little features that are still planned... some expected page reworking here and there... and of course, the obligatory hours of final tweaking that comes after that.... but, the site is up and running. Go take a look, then come back here to jaaman.com... go to the CONTACT page... and give some feedback! Please.

And, as always, thanks for visiting!

New Flash Banner Ad

Well, after spending all that time creating the artwork for the Plasma CD "Astrofantastic"... I just HAD to go ahead and create a banner advertisement to help promote it! Yes, it was nearly involuntary. You can see this snazzy new banner on the plasmapit.com website, in the Flash section here at jaaman.com, or just simply click here.
